I DON’T WANT TO BE // A PROLOGUE TO HISTORY

Escapades

I’m watching the Miss Universe evening gown competition right now and Vittorio Grigolo is singing Keane’s Bedshaped in Italian. It sounds good so I went to look it up and I think this might be his official music video and it reminds me of a cross between a North American frozen pizza advertisement and old school James Bond. O Italians. I’m so excited! Little Italy’s coming back to camp this coming session!!!

Much of the commentary I’ve been catching for Miss Universe 2006 is mostly Carson from Queer Eye saying how he’s going to turn bi and joking about queens. His presence in the Special K ads bugs me. These aren’t my escapades. (more…)

I’m wondering how this week will turn out…

This weekend wasn’t the best of weekends… it started off not too badly because people showed up when I invited friends to see Superman Returns and it turned out to be a decent movie (a tad long with extensive computer-generated landscapes though). I got the wrong time though. I swore the website said it was showing at 800 but it was actually a 915 show and thus we stood around for an hour bored. <shifties> Oops.

I didn’t do anything on Saturday (I watched Serenity in the evening though, enjoyed it, maybe I understand the feel of darren’s (lowercase letter “d”) magnolia snowfall a bit more now… is it like that?) and ended up downloading all of Firefly (I’m about to start the third episode). Sunday was shitty. We went for dim sum which should be nice and yay, dimsum! but it wasn’t because my father is embarassing; not for the reason many – but not all – of your fathers are embarassing, not because he’s weird, but because he’s an asshole. Yah.

The first session of camp is over which means only about six weeks of summer left. I don’t know if I’m happy about that or not. (more…)

Recent events… it’s been good to have Tiffy back but I haven’t actually been seeing her as much as I’d like, but I think I might see her tomorrow if someone gets in touch with someone about a barbecque, or something… she leaves Sunday night… but work’s started now (last week was all trainings) and thus it’s hard to see anyone these days. I got to see people for Canada Day. We went down to Ashbridge’s Bay upon Nat’s invitation to watch fireworks. The first time I was there was only a couple weeks ago when Tiff got back and we went to dim sum and then drove Annie to the same beach for her Dragonboat practise and we hung out on the beach for a while before going to Timmy’s, then Tiff’s house, then Jay’s house, then Toys ‘r’ Us. (That was a really good Sunday actually… I missed chilling with all of them, and Jay’s neice and nephew are uber-cute being Turkish-mixed-Chinese.)

I’d heard the Canada Day beach party was going to be massive, but it was rainy, so it wasn’t so much (in terms of Nat’s party, there were still plenty of people on the beach shooting out Roman candles) but it was still nice. (more…)
