I think it’s really cool that wordpress has a pingback feature. I thought OverheardatMcGill did it manually but apparently it’s a wordpress thinger. On my blog, talking about creepy smoking lady, I should really go to bed pings-back Yonder. On OverheardatMcgill, Stay tuned for Dog’s anus Sundays pings-back You know its [sic] when a Guy calling it a ‘teat’ isn’t the weirdest part. (Is that the correct use of “[sic]?”)
That’s really all I had to say. I also suck at studying. Wednesday draws near and that leaves less than two days to learn something like four thousand years of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean history. Wish me luck. Or teach me how to study, even.
Kat’s birthday went well: Ethiopian food and plans to go for sheesha or karaoke but those didn’t work out so we came back to our apartment and watched Drawn Together and Snatch (which I should probably rewatch ’cause I saw it at a funny angle… also mean to watch the Guy Ritchie’s other films). It was the most guests our apartment has had in some time: my roomies, Kat’s boyfriend Matt, Darren from upstairs and residence last year, AAAA, Farzan and JP and their friends Mike and Theo, and a random Asian guy who left supper early. I think it went well. Mike seemed cool. Gina’s weird (approaching rude). AAAA left just after Snatch began and in a group like they always do, which is somehow cute (solidarity-like… or not wanting to take the metro home alone). Or something.

Fortunately or otherwise, I suppose. I changed the layout for the sake of change. This isn’t my favourite available layout but it reminds me of my Canadian Studies exam I shouldn’t forget even if I plan to go home between exams. I wrote my first formal university-level final exam today on modern Islamic movements. I think it went all right. But I also though I did all right on the mid-term and though the mark was satisfactory, it was not what I had expected considering how I felt about the depth of my knowledge. I must have been misleading myself.
I also got rid of the “Real life” category because it didn’t mean anything. Everything is real, or everything isn’t. It is irrelevant to label it so. I would otherwise cite seeing friends in person as real life but chatting with sraffies not, while this is untrue. I went to visit AdamAviAndres intending to go to see Bulwark at the VAV Gallery but not making it so far in the cold. Alex was there too for a bit, they played video games. It was nice to hang out and find out they’d found themselves “Overheard at Mcgill.” One may now find an ellipsis of mine there too.
There was also random trivia. (more…)
