I DON’T WANT TO BE // A PROLOGUE TO HISTORY

My hometown

I was a tad annoyed this morning when I was sitting around waiting for their call but it was good when I was able to catch up with them. I met up with Laurence, Ally, and Max at harbourfront and we walked until St. Lawrence Market on Front Street. From there we walked north to Queen Street East (I’m there rarely) and walked until Queen (West) and Spadina. They’d already been to Chinatown and Kensington Market in the morning, so we took the streetcar and subway to Queen’s Park where there was Afrofest and we just chilled out on the grass and chat a while. The food smelled great, but we weren’t hungry yet and there was Indian food ahead. Before dinner, we window-shopped on Bloor and peaked at bags we couldn’t afford, and made our way to Nataraj, which is a great Indian restaurant west of Spadina on Bloor. One of the waiters was super cute. Afterwards, we found a bar (The Pump?), where Adrian joined us, and we all just chilled over beer and reminisced about our last summer together in China and just generally caught up. It was good to see them. And I’ll see some of them tomorrow, for a trip up the CN tower (the weather is great), and maybe a trip to the Distillery District, before Laurence and Ally head back to Montreal.

This is a good weekend: not only because I get to spend time with friends but because I get to explore my own city of awesomeness and see places I sometimes forget about living in North York.
